Zyrtec is an antihistamine which used to treat different types of allergy symptoms, including itchy, runny nose; sneezing; and itchy, red, watery eyes or also it is used to treat itching and swelling caused by chronic urticaria. It blocks histamine's action and makes the symptoms of an allergic reaction reduced.

Dosage and direction
Take it orally once a day, with or without food. The recommended starting dose for children 12 years of age and older is 5 or 10 mg once a day, depending of your symptoms. In patients with a kidney or liver condition the recommended dose is 5 mg daily. The recommended starting dose for children 6 to 11 years is 5 or 10 mg. In children with kidney or liver condition dose may be lower. The recommended starting dose for children 2 to 5 years is 2.5 mg . Dosage may be increased to a maximum of 5 mg or 2.5 mg every 12 hours. Do not use Zyrtex in children with liver or kidney condition.
The recommended starting dose for children 6 to 23 months is 2.5 mg. In children 12 to 23 months old, the dose can be increased to a maximum of 5 mg a day, given as 2.5 mg every 12 hours. Do not use Zyrtex in children with liver or kidney condition.
