Common use
Capoten inhibits angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) which transforms of angiotensin I into angiotensin II. Role of the latter is to contracts muscles surrounding blood vessels, thereby narrowing the vessels and hereby causing high blood pressure. Thus intake of Capoten causes blood vessels to enlarge or dilate, and blood pressure is reduced. Arterial hypertension, chronic congestive heart failure, functional disorders of left ventricle after myocardial infarction and clinically stable condition, diabetic nephropathy caused by type I diabetes.

Dosage and direction
Dosage depends on your condition, age and should be administered by your doctor. The medication should be taken on an empty stomach one hour before or two hours after meals two or three times daily.
